Aedgency creates Director of Sales role in preparation for drive into new European markets in 2009

Barcelona, Spain. Performance-based marketing specialist Aedgency has appointed Javier Murillo as Director of Sales to strengthen its strategic sales division as it prepares to enter new European markets, including the UK, later this year.
Formerly Client Development Director at Commission Junction (ValueClick) Murillo joined Aedgency at its Barcelona office in January. His role has been created to facilitate the company’s expansion and to develop its sales teams. Murillo is responsible for expanding Aedgency’s sales division to promote its innovative business model, based around growing trusted communications channels between online brands and consumers, and to integrate these into strategic marketing plans of new and existing clients. Murillo is building out Aedgency’s region-specific offering by developing specialist sales teams responsible for each territory served by Aedgency.
In addition, he is tasked with establishing relationships with additional advertisers, publishers and publisher networks and to manage new business development across all of Aedgency’s communication channels. Prior to moving to Aedgency Murillo was one of the first people to work in the online performance-based marketing space in Spain, he brings over eight years experience in sales and consulting to the company and was co-founder of TradeDoubler Spain in 2000. The strategic hire also coincides with the upcoming re-launch of the Aedgency brand as an integrated affiliation gateway offering three routes to market – email marketing, contextual offers and cashback affiliation.
